Charlie’s Blanket
You guys have been asking for a video on how to knit a baby blanket for a while, now, and the day is finally come! This blanket was inspired by my serious little 2-year-old, Charlie, and the yarn was chosen by him as well. I love the little eyelet rows on this blanket, and I hope you do, too!

Gauge: 24 sts x 34 rows = 4″ x 4″ (10 x 10 cm) over eyelet patt on US 6 (4 mm) needles.
Materials
300 g of fingering weight yarn (3 hanks of Malabrigo Sock in the colorway Fresco y Seco used in sample)
Size US 6 (4 mm) needles
Stitch markers
Abbreviations
K: knit
P: purl
CO: cast on
Beg: beginning
BOR: beginning of round
M1l: make 1 left leaning stitch
M1r: make 1 right leaning stitch
Patt: pattern
Pm: place marker
Rep: repeat
RS: right side of the fabric
K2tog: knit two together – knit the next two stitches together as if they were one stitch.
Sm: slip marker
St: stitch
Yo: yarn over
Blanket
Cast on 220 sts.
Rows 1-6: work Stockinette st.
Row 7: *k18, k2tog, yo; rep from * 10 times, k20.
Row 8: purl
Rep Rows 1-8 until blanket measures 36″ from cast on edge, or blanket is a square, ending on Row 5.
We will now pick up sts along the sides of the blanket to make a small garter stitch border. To pick up sts, work as follows:
Border
pm for BOR, pick up and knit 1 st in the corner, pm, pick up and knit 3 of every 4 sts along the side of the blanket, pm, pick up and knit 1 st in the corner, pm, pick up and knit 220 sts from the cast on edge, pm, pick up and knit 1 st in the corner, pm, pick up and knit 3 of every 4 sts along the side of the blanket, pm, pick up and knit 1 st in the corner, pm, knit to BOR marker.
Rnd 1: Purl to BOR, slipping markers as you come to them.
Rnd 2: *k corner st, sm, m1l, k to next marker, m1r; rep from * to BOR.
Rnd 3: Purl to BOR, removing markers as you come to them,
Cast off all sts loosely.
Weave in all remaining ends.
